Does anyone know how to make the checked cheese paste sandwich.Does anyone
know how to do this and cut the bread so it looks like a checkered board.
l learnt it in Junior Sec but l forgot how to do it. Please help!!! l need
to know how to make it checkered or in a different design. Is there any

For anyone that wants it 1 slice white bread 1 slice whole wheat or pumpernickel Cold cuts or sandwich spread Place sandwich spread, cold cuts on the whole wheat or pumpernickel bread. Place white bread on top of this. Cut into 9 squares. Reverse and alternate colors. ACTUALLY l FOUND IT THROUGH YAHOO SEARCH Checkerboard Sandwiches: You will need an equal number of square slices of each brown and white bread. (My preference is three each.) Beginning with a slice of white bread, butter and spread with filling and top with a slice of brown bread which has been buttered on both sides. Spread filling on brown slice and cover with a white slice, buttered on both sides. Repeat, ending with a brown slice on top and only buttered on the side which touches the filling. Trim crusts. Wrap and refrigerate until filling is firm. Cut loaf into 1/4'' slices. Lay one slice down with the white strip facing you. Spread with butter and filling. Add another slice with the brown strip facing you. Spread with butter and filling. Repeat until you have used all slices. Do not spread butter or filling on top slice. You should have created a block which resembles a checkerboard design. Wrap and refrigerate until firm. When ready to serve, cut into 1/4'' slices.

Checkerboard Cheese Sandwiches
Prep: 30 min. You can also serve this cheesy filling as a dip with fresh
veggies & crackers.
INGREDIENTS: 1 (10-ounce) block extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 1 (10-ounce) block Swiss cheese, grated 1 1/4 cups light or regular mayonnaise 1 (4-ounce) jar diced pimiento, drained 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 20 thin white bread slices 20 thin wheat bread slices Garnishes: grape tomatoes & black olives, secured with wooden picks METHOD: Stir together first 6 ingredients. Spread half of mixture evenly on half of white bread slices; top with remaining half of white bread slices. Spread remaining half of mixture evenly on half of wheat bread slices; top with remaining half of wheat bread slices. Remove crusts with a serrated knife; cut each sandwich into 4 squares. Arrange, stacked in pairs, on a serving plate in a checkerboard pattern, alternating white & wheat. Garnish, if desired. Note: We used Pepperidge Farm Very Thin White & Wheat Bread. Yield: Makes 80 mini sandwiches
